Shipping Addresses

Use shipping addresses when delivery or service-destination details differ from the main account or billing address.

2 min read

A shipping address is a delivery or service-destination address connected to an account or subscription. It can be different from the account address or billing address.

Shipping addresses are useful when the person who pays is not the same as the person or location receiving the service, goods, or subscription-related delivery.

Account Shipping Addresses#

The account model supports multiple shipping addresses. A shipping address can include:

  • Nickname.
  • Recipient first name and last name.
  • Company.
  • Email.
  • VAT number.
  • Phone number.
  • Unit name and unit number.
  • Street number and street name.
  • Suburb.
  • Town.
  • Region or province.
  • Country.
  • Postal code.
  • Location coordinates where captured.

Use nicknames such as Home, Office, Branch 1, or Warehouse when an account has several possible destinations.

Billing Address vs Shipping Address#

Address typeMain purpose
Account addressThe main address associated with the account record.
Billing addressThe address used for billing info, invoice display, and payment verification.
Shipping addressThe address used for delivery or service destination.

The same account can use different values for each address type.

Subscription Shipping#

Subscriptions can also carry shipping information. The backend model supports a subscription shipping object with:

  • Shipping address.
  • Shipping method.
  • Shipping amount.

This is useful when a recurring plan includes a delivery, physical item, or location-specific service.

Current Product Support#

The shared Account model and backend support account shipping addresses and subscription shipping data. The Account detail UI may not expose every possible shipping-management action in every workflow yet.

When shipping data is important to your tenant, confirm where your current account and subscription screens let your team create, update, or select shipping addresses before relying on shipping as a complete operational process.

  • Keep recipient details complete when the billing contact is not the recipient.
  • Use a nickname for every reusable shipping address.
  • Keep country, province, town, and postal code formatting consistent.
  • Confirm the subscription shipping address before activating a subscription that includes delivery.
  • Do not use the account address as a shipping address unless it is truly the service or delivery destination.
