Manage Email Templates
Control the emails your billing sends — create and edit the templates used for invoices, payment reminders, and dunning campaigns from one tabbed management page.
Every automated email your billing sends — payment reminders, dunning notices, invoice notifications — starts life as an email template. The Email Templates page under Configuration is where you create and manage them.
The Email Templates Page#
Templates are organised into tabs by type, so reminder emails, dunning emails, and other billing messages each have their own home. Switch tabs to see the templates of that type.
Each template row shows its name — a template that hasn't been named yet shows "Name not set", which is your cue to give it one. Clear names matter once you start attaching templates to campaigns: "Final notice — 21 days past due" beats "Template 3".
Creating a Template#
Select the create action, choose the template type, and write the message your customer will receive. On save you'll see "Email template created successfully." — the template is immediately available wherever that type is used.
Select any existing template to open and edit it.
Where Templates Are Used#
The heaviest user of email templates is dunning — each step of a Dunning Campaign (also under Configuration) sends an email, and each of those emails is one of your templates. A typical recovery sequence is a gentle nudge, a firmer reminder, and a final notice — three templates, escalating in tone.
Write dunning emails the way you'd want to receive them. Most failed payments are expired cards, not bad intent — a helpful "your payment didn't go through, here's how to fix it" recovers more revenue than a threat.
