Import Accounts in Bulk
Moving to MyBillingHub? Upload a CSV or Excel file of your existing customers, review the parsed rows before anything is created, and bring your whole account base in at once.
2 min read
Typing hundreds of customers in one at a time is nobody's idea of onboarding. The Import page takes a CSV or Excel export from your previous system and turns it into MyBillingHub accounts in one reviewed, controlled pass.
Running an Import#
- Select Import under Customers in the sidebar.
- Select Import accounts to open the import panel.
- Upload your CSV or Excel file.
- Review the parsed rows — the importer shows you exactly what it read from your file so you can spot problems before anything is created.
- Start the import. When it completes, you land on your Accounts list with the new records in place.
Tip
Import a small test file first — five or ten rows. Check the parsed preview and the resulting accounts, fix any column mix-ups in your source file, and only then run the full list.
Preparing Your File#
A clean source file makes a clean import:
- One row per account, with the customer's name, email, and company where you have them.
- Consistent columns — the review step maps what it finds, so keep each piece of data in its own column with a clear header.
- Watch for duplicates — if the same customer appears twice in your export, they'll come in twice.
After the Import#
Your imported customers are ordinary accounts from the moment they're created:
- Open any account to add a payment method, attach a subscription, or raise an invoice.
- Use the account list's search and filters to spot-check the import — filter by created date to see just the new arrivals.
