What is a Customer?

A Customer record holds everything you need to serve a client — their contact details, their pets, and the addresses you collect from and deliver to.

A Customer is a client of your parlour — the record that holds their contact details, their pets, and the addresses you collect from and deliver to. A customer must exist before you can create a booking for them.

What a Customer Record Holds#

PartWhat it covers
Contact detailsName, phone number, and (optionally) email address.
PetsEvery pet belonging to the customer, managed under the customer's Pets tab.
AddressesEvery address the customer books transport from/to, managed under the customer's Addresses tab.
AccountThe billing account tied to the customer, if invoicing is enabled.

Staff-Managed vs Self-Serve Customers#

When you create a customer, you choose whether they manage their own bookings or not:

  • With an email address — the customer is invited to sign in and manage their own bookings themselves.
  • Without an email address — no invite is sent, and your team manages bookings for them.

Either way works the same for scheduling and billing — the only difference is who logs in to make bookings.

Pets and Addresses#

Both pets and addresses live on the customer's profile, and both are needed before you can book transport for that customer:

  • Add pets under the customer's Pets tab — a pet must exist here before it can be selected on a booking.
  • Add addresses under the customer's Addresses tab — required if the booking's transport mode is anything other than None.
